Annually, the Board organizes a meeting at which members of the Society gather to hear, view and discuss results of scientific investigations and related work conducted by fellow members. Meetings most often are held over a period of two days some time in October or November in locations that vary from year to year. The Annual Meeting also is a time for members to decide upon the operation and focus of their Society (FMI, consult the Society's By-laws and Rules and regulations). The Board follows a general set protocols during Annual Meetings to ensure an orderly completion of business. The social aspect of the Annual Meeting is an important component, and the Meeting afford members the opportunity to chat with collegues that they may not see on a regular basis. Members are usually treated to a banquet, with an after-dinner speaker, an ample number of coffee breaks and occasionally field trips. To discover what happened at past annual meetings, consult one or more volumes of the Proceedings of the ESA. For more information about the ESA, please contact the Treasurer of the Society. |
